  • Building Permit on January 2, 1914 for 10 room, 2 story house for $5k

  • Original Owner: Archie D. Bell, Assistant General Passenger Agent for Texas & Pacific Railway

In the 1920s, this house underwent a transformation into an up-and-down duplex, complete with two front doors. The window placements and column positions differed from their current arrangement. Throughout the 1970s, it remained in this duplex configuration, suffering from neglect like much of the surrounding neighborhood. By 1979, the house was in dire straits—condemned and slated for demolition by the city of Dallas. The Sheltons stepped in to rescue it, embarking on extensive reconstruction and renovation. Their efforts converted the duplex into the beautiful single-family home you see today. The current owners, Josue and Steven, fell head over heels for their abode the moment they crossed the threshold. They repainted the interior and revamped three out of the four bedrooms, transforming the house into an entertainer’s haven with its spacious dining room, butler’s pantry, and impressive backyard featuring a pool. Upstairs, they’ve even turned the landing into an art studio. As you explore, take note of the original second-floor stained glass window adorned with a graceful swan.

This white Burgundy is precise, focused and powerful - yet graceful and balanced - with juicy tropical notes that combine with white flowers and minerals on the nose, giving way to green apple and lemongrass.
